a precious memory
Photographing a baby bean only a few days old is a unique and extremely emotional experience. The birth of a baby is as wonderful an event as it is traumatic. When I do a newborn photo shoot, I do it to celebrate that new life so small and powerful that is about to begin its journey, and to preserve forever the delicacy of its first days of life. Her little body so perfect, her first expressions, her first hugs with each other.
the newborn photo session
The period in which a newborn photo shoot is possible is very short, within the first ten days of life, in which it still maintains the attitudes it had inside the belly. It tends to sleep a lot and maintain the “beanbag” position typical of the fetus. Beyond that period, the baby will begin to grow, develop its body, expressions and attitudes.
The newborn photo session lasts about three to four hours. It can be done in the studio or at your home and will include either photos of the baby alone, or alone, or with mom and dad and any siblings. We will take our time to create an optimal and comfortable environment for him, accommodate his timing, ensure his feedings and to handle him carefully and safely.
when to book the session
Since newborn photographs can be done in a small time frame and since the date of birth generally varies, it is a good idea to plan ahead. I generally prefer to have a meeting with you prior to the photo session, preferably in person or at least by phone if you are far away, to get to know each other, study the details of your pregnancy photo shoot together, and schedule the agenda.
We will talk a little bit about you, the photos you like, any doubts you may have, and I will give you some pointers on what attire to have. On the day of the session simply bring yourself and the desire to have fun without thinking about the end result, I will take care of that. We will take as much time as necessary to settle in, relax and possibly take breaks.
